The enterprise
Innovative from experience
Our company history begins with the founding of a start-up above a fast-food chain restaurant in Rosenheim, Upper Bavaria. That may sound trivial today. Back then, it was a bold move – in a city not exactly known as the hub of the tech world, and at a time long before the term “start-up” became a part of everyday language. Three decades later, our headquarters are located in Nußdorf am Inn, and a small team has turned into more than 70 employees. Our sustained success is based on attributes which we realise with a passion: Flexibility, agility, and flat hierarchies as drivers of innovation.
Our managing directors
Björn Röttger
Björn Röttger has been part of Formware since 2003, and is responsible for product development as well as project management. He firmly believes that an open corporate culture, trustworthy cooperation and agile working methods are fundamental to sustainable company success. He finds balance in hiking and skiing in the mountains.
Peter Schindecker
Peter Schindecker has been with us from the beginning. Since 2000, he has been a member of the executive board and responsible for operation of the computing centre as well as IT security. As vice-chairman of Stellwerk 18, a digital business incubator in Rosenheim, he is excellently networked and maintains close contacts with various universities in Germany and Austria.
Thomas Stampf
Thomas Stampf has been part of the executive board since 2009, and is responsible for sales in this role. For him, integrity and trustworthy relationships with customers and partners form the core of successful dealings. Based on these principles, he and his sales team maintain our customer network. For leisure, he gets on to his racing cycle or skis.

#FormwarePeople
When not manning the grill for us, Maximilian supports our customers in making layouts and helps with the further development of our chatbot. Max successfully completed his training as an office management clerk with us, but found out here that he is really a technician at heart. His new job in the document production team therefore suits him all the better: “The work is very interesting and the working environment is great. As a career changer, I was immediately and fully entrusted, which pleased me very much.” We are happy to have Max with us, and to have found the right place of work for him.
Matthias is always fully occupied. As head of product management, he plans the (further) development of our products, organizes the corresponding scrum teams, and intervenes if a hitch occurs. He is rarely to be encountered in his office. He moves around a lot on the premises, and holds discussions with colleagues or participates in meetings. He does everything with great precision and focus. No wonder – in his spare time he is an active marksman.
Simon has a knack for design. With Adobe After Effects, Photoshop and Illustrator, he conjures up videos, posters, infographics and more. He started at Formware in an apprenticeship as an office management clerk. However, he found his home in marketing and is therefore also taking correspondence courses as a graphic designer. In addition, he loves to film and photograph, and very many of the contributions on this page are his!
As a project manager, Christina takes care of customers as well as internal projects. For example, she is currently planning a new database system for the Formware computing centre. On both sides, she moderates the interests of all those involved, with the aim of reconciling as many as possible. Christina works part-time and particularly appreciates the high flexibility she has. This is because she also has to reconcile her job with the care of her two-year-old son. “I feel well here, and the work-life balance is right”, she says.
Axel designs layouts of invoices, reminders and mailings for our customers. In particular, however, he ensures that the variable fields in his layouts are filled with the correct data. This is not always easy, because the data often comes from huge XML files which need to be prepared with scripts and sorted. At times requiring special concentration here, Axel likes to listen to classical music most of all.
After her training as a media designer, Christina added on a degree in business informatics. As a working student with regular employment at Formware now, she develops cool functions and designs for the front-ends of our apps.
“I was assigned a lot of responsibility here from the beginning, that was really good,” she says. This was also good for our apps, because the design of the new user interfaces is really impressive!
Just looking for a job as a working student over 20 years ago, Christian is today Formware’s longest-serving developer. C++ and C# are his domain, in which he programs our layout software for the Windows environment. He is also a big fan of agile development methods and an indispensable participant in nearly all #SCRUM sprints in the house. What does he like most about Formware? The pleasant working environment and the beautiful location in Inntal!
